Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ1: Does the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) require Charter SELPA consultation for approval?

Answer1: No, the Charter SELPA consultation is not a requirement for Charter LEAs that are developing their LCAPs. For best practice, Fresno County Charter SELPA LEAs are required to submit a copy to the Charter SELPA to review. The Fresno County Charter SELPA may provide feedback and/or encourage technical adjustments; however, the LCAP will not require those adjustments prior to approval by the charter’s governing body. Specific educational partner engagement requirements for the development of the LCAP are described in EC sections 52062 (school district), 52068 (county), and 47606.5 (charter school).  As you'll note, the requirements in 47606.5 do not mention the SELPA administrator.
