Funding Source Use of Funds
Base Grant Funding
  • Used to provide IEP-based special education and related services to students in grades K through 12.
  • Funds may also be used for preschool related activities for students with disabilities that have an IEP.
PS/RS
Low Incidence
Out-of-Home Care
Adjustments
  • Used in the same manner as their source. 
Extraordinary Cost Pool
  • Used for costs for mental health.
  • Note: Room and board, residential care services, legal expenses, and parent’s travel reimbursement are not allowable claims under the ECP program. 
  • Additional information is provided in California Education Code Section 56836.20.
IDEA Entitlement
  • Used for the excess costs of providing special education and related services to students with disabilities in order to benefit from a public education, in grades K through 12, ages 5 through 21.

IDEA CCEIS
  • Used for CCEIS activities.
